All local administrators show on instructor selection list.

Symptoms:

When selecting an instructor for an Instructor Led Training course or lesson section, all local administrators show on the instructor list regardless of their assigned permissions.

Cause:

There is a flag separate from the administrator permission mask that determines if a local administrator is to be shown as an instructor. This flag is supposed to be controlled by the Present Instructor-Led Training permission. Both the System Administrator module and the Local Administrator functions in the web module set this flag when an adminstrator's record is edited without regard to the actual value of the Present Instructor-Led Training permission.

Correction:

The problem has been corrected in the System Administrator module and the Web module. New versions of wbtman.exe and wbtman4a.dll have been created along with a script to correct the problem for existing administrators.

Also, system level administrators will now be granted instructor privileges automatically (in the past there was no way that a system administrator could be assigned as an instructor even though are granted full access to all functions in the web module).

To correct existing administrator account records copy the fixiltflag.asp script from the patch to the WBT Manager virtual directory and execute it in your browser. This will set the instructor flag correctly for all existing administrators.
